Radio Icaria Lliure is a community radio created by the "Associació Cultural Els Fumats" that works in Poblenou neighborhood since September 2016. The name "Icària Lliure" refers to when, in the mid-1800s, a group of "Icarians" lived in Poblenou, this people lived according to the values of socialism, equality, fraternity and solidarity. The cultural association "Els Fumats" has in its ideology to promote the development and construction of these values in the district, counting of course, with a wonderful and powerful ally, the radio, to obtain through the waves the social "pulse" of the neighborhood.

Ràdio Icària Lliure is a monthly podcast. During the first year, the radio had an itinerant character but now has found its home at Ateneu Popular la Flor de Maig.
